From Apprentice to fully-fledged Agile Coach

Last year, Optus did a nice write up on my background and transition towards Agile coaching.

The article talks about the fantastic internal coach development program Optus set up, targeted at building inhouse coaching capabilities.

This 'apprenticeship', as it was called, saw me paired up with a senior agile coach for thorough on the job training, after an intense recruitment program. There was also plenty of formal trainings I attended.

A personal highlight was attending a 3 day Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) training with Jeff Patton at the McKinsey offices in Sydney. The training was second to none, but Sydney was also in the midst of one of the worst bushfires, and the views from the city office were rather daunting.

The article also mentions the competency framework, which helps guide our learning & development and is focussed on both the Being and Doing agile.
